Cancellations and No Show Policies

Late Policy: I understand that "life happens" occasionally, in everyone's life. In order for me to honor all of my client's schedules, your session will be shortened to accommodate the next client's appointment. If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late please call to reschedule.

Cancellation Policy:  When cancelling an appointment, a 12 hour notice is required, and would be greatly appreciated. This allows for someone else to have this appointment.  If you are unable to give 12 hours you will be charged the full amount of your massage.  This will be due before your next massage. I understand that emergencies happen and will make exceptions based on circumstances and my discretion.

No Shows: Will be considered the same as not giving notice of 12 hours prior.  A charge of the full amount of your massage will be required before your next appointment.

Inclement Weather Policy: In the event of inclement weather, I will waive my 12 hour cancellation policy.  I would ask that you let me know as soon as possible if you are not able to make your appointment.  I will let you know 2 hours before your appointment If I can not make it due to weather.

Health Precautions

Licensed Professional Massage Therapist's are required to keep the studio compliant to the Governor of VA standards for personal care service business. COVID-19 has elevated the studio's cleanliness precautions to a higher level.

To keep you and your Massage Therapist safe,  many new procedures have been implemented and items add to the studio. One such item is an air purifier, and new barriers for my table and head rest. Cleaning products are of the highest standard. Your Massage Therapist has taken two classes for properly disinfecting and cleaning the studio to the COVID-19 standard.

Getting a massage when your sick: If you are symptomatic, I will not massage you. If you feel like you are getting sick, just call me and we can reschedule.

How often should you receive a massage?: I recommend at least once a month for wellness maintenance and stress reduction. If there is a medical need, more frequent massages may be needed. A regular massage will help your body to reduce stress and promote wellness.

What causes "knots" in muscles?: The "hard knots" in muscles occur when muscle fibers and fascia bind up and stick together forming an adhesion. Oxygen -rich blood has a hard time flowing into the areas and metabolic wastes are trapped in the tissue causing pain and inflammation.
